The world I’ve learnt to know

You are not alone

I was introduced to the world of the unknown. Like a baby’s umbilical cord cut off, that connection to its mother, the bond being tempered with. However, it knowing very well that the security blanket hasn’t left it but only building a stronger bond. Introduced to the world of the unknown, where security is tempered with, relying on what is not known, and having to fend for yourself not knowing what’s to come. Being introduced to the world of the unknown, like the thick cloud of fog in the morning, having to adjust your eyes, altering your neurons into believing that you can see beyond its thickness.

Seconds pass as you cut through the fog, trying to see what lies ahead. Uphonsa amehlo phezu kwezintaba, trying to disassemble what lies beyond the horizon. Where you put your faith knowing that the next step you take you’ll land in a secure place. Not being misled as you’re introduced to the world of the unknown. Introduced to the world of the unknown where trespassing seems to be as casual as friendships builds up, bonds being formed, knowing the unknown, yet still not known that’s unknown.

Being introduced to the world of the unknown having to adjust one’s personal borders, expanding them to fit those within the world of the unknown. Tempering with the borders of trust, putting your faith in what you do not know, yet always remembering that, this world of the unknown will soon be your temporarily residence. Residing in it day in and day out, knowing that there’s that security blanket you can rap yourself with as the world of the unknown reveals its true shades. These shades which lies beyond the horizon, beyond the thick fog which covers your eyes.

Warmly rapped with the blanket, taken step-by-step, second-by-second to disassemble the world of the unknown. Like a child learning to walk, resilient to take the next step as they don’t know who’s going to catch them, having to rely on one’s instincts knowing and remembering that cord which was cut off, that blanket to always fall back into. Introduced to the world of the unknown; warm filled with love and hope; as all seems to be known, revealed in one’s eyes, the mucus wiped off from ones eyes by the hand that is to lead you, the mucus wiped off from ones ears, hearing the sound of the voice that is to guide you and all hope is built up that the world of the unknown is soon to be known.
