The Race
By: Puleng Mokgosi
Sometimes
we think we know who we are and where we are going. We grow up knowing what
society says about us and we let what they say determine the intensity of our
vision. We get so used to human approval such that we even expect it to
validate our worth. We end up going or doing what we think that it’s right
according to society and end up not following our hearts. We suppress our
dreams to suite our circumstances, turn a blind eye to our visions, a deaf ear
to our calling. We press on and continue toiling in order for us to fulfill the
society painted vision. One that involves no passion, no peace, no joy, no rest
but debts, cheating to go up, strife, bitterness, pride etc...
When
is this going to end? Being taken daily to the grave with your purpose not even
acted upon? Living a false life just to please others who don't even
congratulate you when you're at the finish line but always there to discourage
you and find faults in every step that you take?
You
are you, you are unique, each and every one of us has a brick to add to the
wall of the life and you can only play your part, no one else can do it better
than you.
It is
not too late to begin your race, drop off the wrong race number you have been
given, wear yours, put on new gear, new eyes, new ears, and definitely new
rules and new speed.
As
you take your position getting ready to begin, take up the whole armour of God
and clothe your inner man, put on the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit, let the
eyes of your heart be opened and most of all put on the garment of praise for
that will be your strength!
And
finally as the race starts remember to stay on your lane, don't look on the
sides but look forward to where you are going, as the race progresses and you
feel like giving up, put on that praise garment and wear it so tight that it
suppresses matters of the flesh, always make sure that your armour is in place
and that you always communicate to your Assistant Coach- the Holy Spirit.
So are we ready to run our race?
